Coombe Garage was founded in 1927 by Nigel Wedlake's grandparents.

About Us

Originally a petrol station near Bristol airport, the hardworking couple started to do mechanical repairs to cars, tractors and trucks in their single bay where they could fit just 2 cars at the same time.

Wendy, Nigel's mum, joined the business when she left school. With her husband Donald, a builder by trade, they took over her parent's business and were later joined by their son Nigel, who started the tyre part of the business.

Since then the business has never stopped growing. The business moved from its original smaller site to bigger premises in Nailsea, in 2006. With space to accommodate four vehicles simultaneously and storage space for the first time, the tyre business really took off. The link with the Airport has never broken though and we are still proud to maintain customers in that area. You can regularly see our vans in and around the whole of Chew Valley and even airside at the Airport.

Jan Wedlake, Nigel's wife joined the business in 2006. Coming from the insurance industry in Bristol, her aim was to make sure that customers had a better experience when buying tyres at Coombe Garage. She had to wait until the business moved premises again in 2013 to the Southfield Road Trading Estate to fulfil her vision. A comfy reception area was created with free coffee & Wifi, magazines to read and TV to watch and in addition what was considered to be far too advanced: a baby changing/breastfeeding room that was an immediate success. The facilities now make it safe for the whole family to watch their car tyres being changed or their car serviced from the comfort of our waiting room via a workshop TV screen. Coombe Garage Tyres Ltd hopes this will make your purchase as pleasant as possible!

On March 18th 2015 we celebrated our 2nd anniversary at our current premises. The move has been great for customers and staff. Come and visit us soon!
